Sick

I am sick again.
It's my own fault.

HAHAHAHA.

School sucks. I hope I can just make it through the next two weeks...
--------------------

This looks so dumb. I mean it still looks funny but...really stupid.

Ready for the rest of the day? NO. Group meeting...at midnight.

Ugh

45-letter Lake name...I found this rather entertaiing.

Life's alright. I hate physics, the third exam turned out much worse than expected....like I didn't think I could do that badly. Just wait, I'm supposed to get animal phys back today...ugh.

I still have...finish an Epi presentation (outline left), finish Soc. Strat. term paper, and start AND finish GHC presentation (25 pages and presentation).

I've got a couple of days :'(

MAKE IT GO AWAYYYY

EDIT: Turns out I could do worse. Animal Phys. Great.

eh...I guess I need to somehow do awesome from here on out.

Stupid Americans

Thanks goes to Edwina for reminding me that this video exists.

Three weeks left.

THREE WEEKS (including Finals) and it'll be OVER! then it'll be time to move on to you know...work and class...BUT it will include SUNSHINE which just makes it that much better!

Anyway, I wasn't that productive over the weekend but I did get some volunteering done for the Community Charity Auction, enjoyed flowers and stars...and of course, experienced that super fun drag show lol.

Oh...Steph, Carly and I make "bad life choices" although not really. That's just what Carly said as we all postponed the homework we had to watch a movie instead.

Zac Efron wasn't a totally bad actor in this movie. It was a really cute and was somewhat meaningful. There were a couple awkward and hilarious parts and it helps that Zac Efron is cute, heh. I didn't like him much in the HSM movies but he looked much better here. Hmm...he looked sorta like this guy Steph and I oggled at uptown Saturday for the Earth Day celebration as we lazed around on the grass. But, Zac Efron > random guy uptown...

I am currently watching The Gods Must be Crazy...parts of it are absolutely hilarious.

sigh, there is so much i need to do...the next three weeks suck but it is so hard to be alert and productive! sigh...

otherwise, life's alright...strange at times...a lot to think about...but at least it is interesting, right?

I love you, man

GOOD movie. Only good thing of my day I must say.

It feels like I've been bipolar today. Not literally of course...but it took effort to just control and compose myself most of the day.

First of all, I woke up at 8am (sleep deprived still from studying Physics to the wee hours)...ate a bit of cereal...semi-studied.

Took the Animal PHys lab quiz I was not prepared for...I've been doing so well in that class and our quizzes are worth a decent amt and I'd hate to have missed those points for stupid reasons like I did. Anyway...we did NOT get out of lab early and had all sorts of issues so I didn't get to eat between labs and rushed off to Physics and probably screwed up part of another quiz. At least we got out of THAT early but I was SO HUNGRY and grumpy/impatient...at least we finished at like 230pm? HUNGRY...and grumpy still.

Studied/ATE A LOT/took a nap *gasp*.

Physics exam? let's say Dr. Jiang's going to laugh hysterically when he grades part of my partial credit...the MC was pretty tricky too. Go figure.

BUT...the movie was good. I did actually get a lot out from the movie and I'm glad I have my friends but it does remind me that I need to be much more free with myself. Something to work on. I'm too tired to say more about that right now, I've got an An. Phys. lab term paper to finish (due by 4pm Friday and I've got class all day, great).

Susan Boyle from Britain's got talent. She may not look the part but her voice is amazing. Check it out! Credit goes to Priya for informing me of this. Thanks, love.

Limbo

Floating.
...and I don't know where to go. Ugh, I wish there was something concrete to move from, something more convincing.

Hm...Sometimes I wish I didn't care and didn't have a conscience, or that my life was black and white. But, what kind of life would that be?

The indecision and confusion is rather unpleasant. Maybe I'm just not ready to move, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't move. I don't even know that. I keep on digging holes for myself. Impulses. Control. Where to draw the line? what about logic? abstract emotions? Oh boy.

Floating.

I hope I don't drown.

And who said Epi couldn't be fun?

So...one of the girls in my class was not present the day we discussed condom dresses so people updated her. THEN, it led on to more tangents that were quite entertaining and remotely educational.

Condom ringtone to encourage people to use them and to make their use in society more acceptable (India).

---
Then they were talking about condom cartoons and how it's a real popular thing in Brazil, like the cartoon itself and is everywhere like on backpacks now. It's the "cool" thing? I can't seem to find it...you are welcome to go on a hunt for it of course.
---
STI e-card

Now...this is pretty ingenius I think. I mean, nothing really bad can come from it (apart from STI itself) but really...even if you got one as a prank, and then got tested...hey, that's good, right? Anyway, class is really interesting...
---
Also, one time they were handing out condoms up at the hub that came with a note...something about "don't put butter on it!" or something...

NOTE: "The oils in Crisco, butter, baby oil, Vaseline or cold cream will make latex fall apart."

People are so stupid.

OK, I really need to be productive now that I've shared with you all what I learned in class.

If I can't get a job...

Best places to get a part-time job.

I like books.

Do Re Mi

I wish this would happen around here or something.

Still studying, and being disturbed. I learn something new everyday. e.coli can be Really gross to think about.

Hockey all the time

Last night's game was incredible. Even though Miami lost to BU, it was an INTENSE game...we were SO CLOSE. Overtime was crazy.

Good game...good game. At least we made it to Nationals this time...hopefully next year Miami goes back and wins! I mean this is BU's 5th national title...I say it's time for a change (you know, one for Miami of course).

Life's interesting. I need to study like crazy. darn.

Condoms

Condom Dresses. We discussed this for a short period of time in Epi. I'm not sure how we got to that subject, but the class was incredibly amused. Somehow we managed to finish our normal lecture with a few interuptions about big rats, pasteurization, and condom dresses. Awesome.

I'd rather be with you

Josh Radin--I'd Rather be with You

This may be one of the first times I'm really glad I was listening to the radio because here's a new(?) song that I like. It's real chill and real sweet. That and I don't know who Josh Radin is but he has an amazing voice.

Love and Honor to Miami!

I am proud to say that I go to a school that made it to the National Championship! Division 1 no less!

EXCITED.

good game for the most part. There was a lot of body slamming and I could hear the Miami hockey band and the Miami cheers! It was awesome to see it all on National television! I wish I could have been there and I wish I didn't have so many exams next week! the Saturday game is going to be amazing and I most definitely plan on watching it! WE WON!!! 4-1. Actually nothing seemed to have happened first period, but once Jenn and I got back from Dinner (right before second period) things picked up a lot (we like to think that it was because of us). Miami made 3 goals! Actually, during the third period there was like 2 minutes left and Bemidji took out a goalie to have more skating around on the ice, in the hopes to make two more goals. I mean that makes sense but within 30 seconds, Redhawks scored on them. AWESOME. Stupid Beavers. Literally, when that goal went in we were screaming! Oh happy day...even if I am incredibly sleep deprived now. I've been awake for 15 hours now and I've got 4 more to go! woo!

Trying to be productive...trying trying trying...

Here's to an interesting next couple of days.

I love Miami.

----

Only bad thing of today:
(maybe class too)

My wisdom teeth. The dentist trip was fine until it was discovered that my wisdom teeth have to go. like REALLY. There is NO way around it. At least I only have three. The one on top is ok, it's growing fine. The two on the bottom HAVE TO GO, I even have that picture thing with me in an envelope...even I can figure that out and wouldn't need a dentist to tell me that...One more FUN (ugh) thing to do this summer. hahaha. Hey, at least I'll probably get drugs and just sit around for a bit! yay...

Sleep

is awesome.

I fell asleep at 5pm yesterday (didn't feel well so I e-mailed the teacher saying that I probably wouldn't be in class)...and then woke up at 5:30am today. It's strange because when I woke up I couldn't figure out what time it was because I saw that it was 530 but I thought it might've still just been 5:30pm...apparently I was very, very wrong. A lot didn't get done but I think it'll be alright...it's going to have to be, haha. At least I've been relatively productive anyway this morning but now I'm sorta tired again. Great. I am not ready for the days to come, at all. :-( .

I wish it was...Friday, not this Friday, but Next Friday. This will not be a fun weekend. at all.

On the bright side, I got scheduling done! I'm not sure how I feel about it because I'm not signed up for Molecular Bio even though it's recommended but Cell bio and Health seems to be a decent replacement...Next year looks like it is going to be a lot easier than this year and it looks like I'll have some free time on my hands which is exciting!

Now...I'm not sure what to do with myself before class. I should be productive but I'm still sorta tired.

Double segway

Double Segway

Segway cops in Oxford are just about the funniest things ever. Bike cops are pretty funny too but there is just something special about segways. They are awkward and goofy. The movement is often jolty and the helmets look out of place. Also, they are funnier than bikes because they don't go very fast. Just about anybody can outrun a segway....I'm not sure how long but they would have enough time to manage to run around corners and get away. Anyway,I saw this on yahoo and was very amused. It's probably more for the regular (green) consumer but who's to say that cops aren't going to use it as well? maybe handcuff the delinquent in the next spot! Of course this isn't that safe because there would be no division between the two...either way, the possible uses for this segway can easily make for a good chuckle.

Zoom! Look at that thing go...

Watchmen: Under the Hood

Paula told me about these videos (it took some time to find them though)...I'm not sure what the first one is of...more of a background? but "Under the Hood" consists of videos of the Watchmen characters (in character) set during the times.

Either way, it looks interesting.

I'm pretty sure this is what I was looking for...at least parts of it:

HEY, don't forget this one too!

Under the Hood: Silk Spectre.
***********************************************
Randomness that is NOT Watchmen related at all:

This is creepy. Elmo's OK but that might just be because I know who he is. Who is Abby Cadabby? First of all, she's CREEPY looking. Secondly, it sounds like cadaver. NO!!! Creepy...Should've seen Paula's face when that commercial came up.

I need to be real productive this week. Somehow. I seem to have lost my appetite this week too. Great.

At least one thing has not changed!:

I still have this fascination of stationary/pens and such! I ran out of my blue ink pen so I had to replace it. I found this at Shriver and I was very excited because the ink looks clear. The way this works is actually a LOT simpler than expected, so simple that it SHOULD have been obvious to me! The color and solution of the ink is separated...duh. haha.

So we were watching a video about meningitis in Epi and even though they didn't mention anything about sharing drinks and stuff...actually they might have mentioned something about college students and "riskier" behavior...Anyway, on the way back from class I remembered the jell-o from saturday. Not that I didn't know this, but I didn't really think about it much...like 10+ people sharing a spoon probably isn't a good idea, haha.

*****
Priya: jay manueal is so cute
Feier: top model?
Priya: ya

Feier: im watching greek.
Priya: you dont think hes cute?

Priya: i would totally marry him
Priya: b/c we could get along
Priya: and we could cheat on each other
Feier: awesome

Somewhere

somewhere I've lost my sense of clarity.

Well, if I didn't have enough to think about before, I definitely do now.

Oh my life is so awkward.

At least saturday was AWESOME.
Played with Luke, then the others came to play with him as well before we went to kroger to get stuff for our picnic. Awesome picnic, scrumptious food, good times, the guys had wine (it tasted OK), etc. Basketball (H-O-R-S-E) and KITES. Fei and I are amazing at flying kites even if it required us to go to the other side of the park, go up the hill, and run to the other side, just to get the kite high enough to catch a good and consistent breeze. And the guys didn't think it'd work...

I wish Jocelyn had come with us to the party. Too bad Fei and Seth left early because not long after they left it started picking up. Granted, it was partly for other reasons that it was getting loud and fun but the people were fun to begin with and I enjoyed socializing. Good distraction from life.

some people really played their OFFICE characters well, and the stapler in the jell-0? sweet, and it tasted pretty good too! even though there was only one spoon and a measuring spoon...or was it a melon baller, i think the latter... and everybody was well dressed, of course. So I'm thinking A LOT of people from the Lakotas go to Miami because every party I've gone to there is at least one person from either Lakota East or West, and usually I've never met them. Shows how much bigger of a school they are then...

Anyway, I really should get ready to meet my little Margaret for lunch...and hopefully be crazy productive all day. Not like I'm gonna be sleeping anytime soon...I've got too much to think about and I don't know what to do. As Usual. Go Figure.

Fun through failing

Yeah, to add on to my list of...mishaps this week, let's add the goofy stuff.

1) Steph and I decide to try to do Zumba...then we find out it's canceled because the instructor is sick.
2) Instead, we go running around the track. Neither of us have run in a LONG time so that was quite funny...yay water breaks. yeah, I need to get back into shape. Both ex-runners and we are so...yeah, both Steph and I need to get it back...
3) Wanted to play table tennis (ping pong) and then these two Chinese men (teachers?) told us we needed to get our own table but they were sorta rude about it. Turns out Steph knows one of em cus she had him as her teacher and he's...really weird, let's not get into why right now. If you want to know, ask.
4) We decide we want to play ping pong at wells...the ball is missing...so much for that.
5) We play fooseball instead. We both SUCK. half hour game. No joke. HALF AN HOUR and half the time the ball was stuck in the corner because the table is faulty...and we are REALLY slow and out of it and in hysterics most of the time. Sometimes we scored on ourselves. At least I won! I'm not sure if that means I am slightly more coordinated (which I think is true) or that she scored on herself more often. I know that doesn't really say much but we definitely had a good time.

Now what kind of silliness am I going to get myself into? We'll see.

Zack, I dare you to go do that. Actually, if you win a million bucks, mind sharing some of it?

Anyway...it's been a special day. So far, it has all been good and at times very funny.

Animal Phys Lab: I am an idiot, but at least it made for a good class. Our lab involved using the computer and various wires connected to it to attain EKG results as well as blood pressure at various positions. Well...EKG went alright and relatively problem-free apart from figuring out how to use the program on the computer for it. The leads were attached to these sticky things that had buttons that snapped onto the wires which were sorta neat but the best part was underneath and in the middle with this blue gel stuff that felt really gross. I wish I had taken a picture of it but it looked hilarious. You know those indian decorations? that look sort of like white eyes with blue irises? It looked like that. I may try to find a picture of that sometime in case you have no idea what I am talking (which is probably the case). Well, that's not really the funny part of lab. Paula volunteered to have the EKG and Blood Pressure taken from her so for the supine position (lying down) she had to lie down on the counter and because she's pretty tall, her feet were off the edge dangling awkwardly. I'm pumping air into the ...I can't remember what it's called...and I notice the barometer is not reading anything. I didn't pump a lot of air, maybe just 5mmHg but I was getting really frustrated...and after a while I realized it wasn't even connected. No wonder it was not reading! It's stupid but I even KNEW that it fell off easily but I guess I hadn't noticed that Paula moved her arm and that it disconnected...Oh well. We were laughing Really hard to the point that we were practically crying. It was pretty good. Good lab. We had fun. Ted was pretty patient with us laughing hysterically and I was really out of it. Go us!

I am currently waiting for my poster (for the Undergraduate Research Forum) to finish printing! I say it'll take another like...30 minutes? the thing is pretty big. The mini poster looks pretty though so i am excited! Either way, I am more excited about this than the many papers I have yet to research, analyze, and write about. Oh...Goody.

Things to look forward to:
Friday: ZUMBA! and Relay for Life (please don't rain??)
Saturday: not sure about the daytime...may need to be productive. Then THE OFFICE party. yeahh!

Apart from that? a lot of productivity and hopefully life gets more interesting and fun soon!

P.S. The poster turned out beautifully! but I forgot where the room that was printing it was...I couldn't remember if it was the 2nd or 3rd floor of Pearson...so...I went on a hunt...eventually found it, then had to go on a hunt for the large paper cutter. I am just NOT with it today. Awesome. Oh well, I enjoy it.
